Field Trip Fun

Our first field trip of the year took us to the Hill Air Force Base Aerospace Museum and the WSU Planetarium. A great time was had by all!

Hopi Basket Weaving

The Indians of the Southwest are well-known for their basket weaving skills. Our baskets look pretty good, too.

Nuts About Peanut Butter

We cracked, shelled, cleaned, and ground them up. The only thing left to do - enjoy the homemade peanut butter on crackers! That was easy!!

Red Ribbon Week

We are rather proud of the poster we made for our door for Red Ribbon Week. Guess who wants to be what when they grow up!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Part 2

Last week we showed you some giant pumpkins. We wondered  what you could do with one. Make pie? Make a giant Jack-o-Lantern? We had no idea you could carve an MGES Eagle out of one! Thanks to Mr. Winegar for his super talent with the carving tools.

Pizza, Pizza

Our Walk-A-Thon efforts payed off. We enjoyed  pizza and root beer and a good time was had by all :)

Our Very Own Student of the Week

We are proud of our first Student of the Week! Way to go!!!

Above and Beyond - Friendship Fudge

Our first "food" experience for the year was making "Friendship Fudge". As we worked together we found that we could end up with something really yummy.

Safety First 2011

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, we were visited by the Mountain Green Fire Department. We learned how to save ourselves in case of a fire, such as "Stop, drop and roll". We also enjoyed inspecting the fire truck up close.

WOW!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! These giant pumpkins weigh in at 994 lbs. and 1,600 lbs. respectively. Oh, yeah, the gourd in the front is 93 1/2 inches long.

We Are Amazing!

And we were just that - AMAZING!  Thanks to Mrs. Hansen for all her hard work. We will be singing these songs the rest of the year. We also enjoyed meeting Roger and Melanie Hoffman, two of the songwriters and arrangers.

Remembering 9/11

During this assembly, we had a memorial program of September 11, 2001.  A day close to our hearts, and especially on our minds during this month.

Our Class

We begin another great year!  From the look of our class, we look reared up to learn the importance things of the year.  With reading, writing, and multiplication tables, we have our educational plates full for the 2011-2012 school year.
